Regional kick-off meeting

The city of Hai Phong is proposing Urban Pathways concrete actions in the city: 
1. Raising awareness for sustainable transport, energy consumption and waste management of the government officials and local people 
2. Support Hai Phong city by developing an action plan, delivering on the National Determined Contributions 
3. Provide Urban Change Maker to city leaders, government decision makers and the local people 
(training, workshops, e-learning courses)
4. City-to-city partnership
(connecting with the other pilot countries - learn from experiences)
5. Pilot projects, awareness campaigns on sustainable transport - improvement of public transport - electrification of vehicles
Urban Pathways regional kick-off (South Asia)
Location: Hai Phong city/Vietnam
 
This workshop focused on implementation action in Southeast Asia of the Paris Agreement in the context of the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. The Urban Pathways project will work closely with the cities and follow a structured approach to boost Low Carbon Plans for urban mobility, energy and waste management services that deliver on the Paris Agreement and the New Urban Agenda. The project will work on concrete steps towards a maximum impact with regards to the contribution of urban basic services (mobility, energy and waste management) in cities to global climate change mitigation efforts and sustainable and inclusive urban development.
 




​Objectives: 
  • To introduce the Urban Pathways project to stakeholders
  • To get better understanding about challenges and needs of Kochi regarding mobility, energy and wastes management.
  • To discuss the key opportunities to implement low-carbon urban energy, mobility and resource management solutions in Kochi and to identify synergies among the various initiatives and projects
  • To seek for cooperation with relevant authorities, projects and initiatives​
